A basic understanding of baseball is required for this game, so I'd probably save it for 8-year olds and above.
Set up a "baseball diamond" using four cones, with "home plate" directly in front of a goal. There is one "batter", but have an extra player or two "on deck" to keep the game moving quickly. Everyone else is in the field, including one pitcher.
The pitcher makes a nice smooth pass towards the batter, who kicks it as far as they can (practicing good shooting technique). As soon as the ball is kicked, the batter races around the bases, without stopping. The fielding team contains the kicked ball, and using good passes and a good shot, tries to score a goal before the batter runs all the way around to home plate. If a goal is scored first, the batter is out. If not, then the batter scores a home run!
To keep multiple players involved, require one or two passes before the shot on goal can be made. Also rotate your pitcher, as well as of course your batters.
