Four Corner Shooting

This is a basic game that sharpens shooting accuracy and mental awareness.

One at a time, players dribble with speed towards the goal. Use a cone to mark a distance of about 10-18 yards away from the goal (depending upon age), from which the point the player will shoot. Just before the player reaches the mark, call out a number 1-4, which designates the area of the goal they should shoot at:

1 - Upper Left
2 - Upper Right
3 - Lower Left
4 - Lower Right

The less notice you give your players, the quicker they have to react.

To make it even more challenging and to add variety, instead of the players dribbling towards the goal, feed it to them with a pass from in front of them or the side. Call out the number as the ball approaches them. Vary the difficulty based upon your players' skill level.
