This is a relay race game. In a defined play area, spread out a bunch of cones or discs (cones work better in this game but discs are also acceptable). These are the "land mines". The mines should be fairly close together (3-6 feet depending upon players' age).
At one end of the field, break your team up into groups of four (if possible). Each group of four will consist of two pairs, Pair A and Pair B. Pair A from each group will all start at the same time. The object is to navigate the minefield through a series of passes to each other from one end to the other and back, without touching a mine with either the ball or the feet. If a mine is touched, the pair must return to the beginning and start over.
When Pair A successfully crosses the minefield and back, Pair B then goes. Whichever team finishes first wins.
You have to be careful with relay races or you'll have too many people waiting in line. If you can prevent that, I personally like relay races as it encourages players to cheer on their teammates. Groups of four work best in this game because it gives you two pairs, and there isn't an excessive amount of waiting. If you don't quite have enough players, ask one or two players to go twice.
