This game is only average, but is still worth using once or twice during a season for variety.
In a predefined dribbling area of about 20 x 30 yards, spread out about 15 cones. These are the "Buildings".
Split your team up into two groups, the "Builders" and the "Bulldozers". It is the Builders jobs to keep the cones upright, while the Bulldozers try to knock them over.
There are a few ways you can play this, depending upon age and skill level:
Option #1: Everyone is dribbling, and everyone uses their hands to knock down or set back up the buildings. This is the most fair, but the Bulldozers would much rather kick down the buildings! This way gets a little slow and just isn't as fun for the kids.
Option #2: Bulldozers can kick down the buildings with the ball. This is more fun, but makes it harder for the Builders to keep up.
Option #3: Bulldozers are dribbling, but the Builders don't have to. This way probably works best. The Bulldozers can kick down the buildings with their ball while the Builders simply run around setting them back up. The Builders aren't really practicing any soccer skills, but if just for a short time this is ok every once in awhile.
Keep the kids motivated by calling out "It looks like the Bulldozers are ahead", "It looks like the Builders are coming back", etc.
