Simon Says

Almost everyone knows how Simon Says works. If I say "Simon says clap your hands", the players should start clapping. If I then say "Stop", whomever stops clapping loses, because I did not say "Simon says stop".

This game can be easily translated into a fun soccer exercise.

The first time you play Simon Says, do it without soccer balls. Call out simple to crazy commands such as Stand Up, Sit Down, Stand On One Leg, Sound Like a Chicken, Louder!, etc., mixing them up with ones that "Simon Says" and others that he doesn't.

Once your players get the hang of it, play the game with the ball. Commands you can use now include Dribble Slow, Dribble Fast, Stop the Ball With Your Knee (Foot, Forehead, etc.), Pick Up the Ball and Juggle It On Your Knee (Foot, Forehead), Throw It Up and Catch It, etc. Get creative!

If there are games that you like to use that you don't see here, please pass them along! Just email us at info@soccerforcoaches.com.
